Finding your way around a city's food does not always have to begin with its most famous dish. It can help to look at the place where you will eat: its connection to the neighbourhood, the habits it makes room for, the way it describes its cooking. For this Ravenna guide, we have chosen a wine bar and an osteria, both in the centre.
Ca' de Vèn and Osteria Passatelli offer different ways into the same city. We present them through information checked on their official websites on 28 October 2026. This is documented editorial selection, not a ranking or a review of meals we have not eaten.
Ca' de Vèn — starting with wine and space
Ca' de Vèn describes itself as an enoteca operating since 1975, in a fifteenth-century building on Via Corrado Ricci. Its website highlights Romagnol wines and historic furnishings. The address is number 24, in a pedestrian area.
We chose it for its stated connection between wine and local identity. An enoteca also suggests a different pace from a food itinerary planned as a sequence of courses. You can begin with a question about a glass and decide how to continue after checking the current offering.
A historic setting is a reason to pause and look; it does not replace reading the menu. Ask what can be ordered when you arrive and plan the final approach on foot: the website notes that private vehicles cannot reach the enoteca directly.
Address: Via Corrado Ricci 24, Ravenna.

Osteria Passatelli — cooking on the cinema's ground floor
At Via Ponte Marino 19, Osteria Passatelli occupies the ground floor of the Cinema Teatro Mariani. The restaurant describes Romagnol cooking, passatelli, hand-rolled pasta and dishes from land and sea.
Our reason for including it is the meeting of a defined culinary identity and a building that retains a cultural purpose. That does not imply an events programme or dinner with a show: those require a calendar check. It is a way of reading a place through more than one use.
If pasta is your focus, ask which shapes and sauces are on the current menu. Even the dish that gives a restaurant its name can appear in different versions. Check availability rather than building an expectation around an old photograph.
Address: Via Ponte Marino 19, Ravenna.
Information and bookings: Osteria Passatelli's official website.
A stop without filling every interval
We are not suggesting you visit both in one day. Choose the kind of pause you want: wine and an enoteca, or a lunch or dinner centred on the osteria's cooking. Give the meal its time and leave the rest to the city.
Menus, prices and availability may change. Consult official sources and mention any dietary requirements when booking. Continue with our Ferrara guide, return to the city guides, or explore our restaurant finder.
